Homemade Halloween Cake - Spooky and Easy-to-Make Decorations
Halloween Color Palette
Orange, black, purple, and neon green are classic colors. With gel food colorings, you can color fondant or cream in any of these shades.
Idea 1: Pumpkin Cake
Round cake, covered with orange fondant. Add vertical lines with a stick to imitate a pumpkin and a green sugar paste stem on top. You can also add a jack-o'-lantern face made of black fondant.
Idea 2: Ghost Cake
Black cake with simple white fondant ghosts on the side. Ghosts are very easy to make: a white teardrop shape with two black dots as eyes.
Idea 3: Spiderweb Cake
White icing on a black cake, with a spiderweb pattern drawn with a stick. Add a small black sugar paste spider. Dramatic effect with minimal effort!
Idea 4: Blood Cake
White cake with a "drip" of red ganache or red icing oozing down the sides. You can finish it with a hand or a skull made of sugar paste.
